Aik Saath (meaning ‘Together As One’ in Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu) was set up ten years ago due to violent conflict between young people in Slough. A Channel Four documentary followed an international Peacemaker, Dr Dudley Weeks, in his efforts to resolve the conflict and he concluded that a young people’s conflict resolution organisation was needed. Aik Saath has been delivering conflict resolution and anti-racism training in Slough’s schools and young people’s centres ever since. This tenth anniversary showing will accompany the launch of a new peer-led research report to set the agenda for the next ten years of our work. |
